"An educator should consider that he has failed in his job if he has not succeeded in instilling some trace of a divine dissatisfaction with our miserable social environment."  Anthony Standen
I consider teaching to be a form of social and personal liberation, both for me and my students. With each class, and every student, I try to instill in them a greater appreciation and awe of the world around them, and relate to them the urgency of caring for others. I became a teacher of psychology because I deeply believe in the curative effects of both my profession and of teaching. As the noted psychologist Alfred Adler once said "my psychology belongs to everyone" so I am a teacher of psychology in order to give away psychology - to everyone. A core requirement in many of my courses is service - although in a just world there would be no need for charity.

Courses that I teach:

Introduction to Psychology

Abnormal Psychology

Clinical Psychology

Cross Cultural Psychology

Latin@ Psychology

Introduction to Women and Gender Studies

Disaster Psychology

Psychology of Immigration
